1. Introduction

These Terms & Conditions ("Terms") govern your use of the website and online services operated by Yvonne Lewis Group Ltd ("YLG", "we", "us", "our"), a specialist recruitment and workforce training company serving the supported housing sector in the United Kingdom.

By accessing our website at yvonnelewisgroup.com, registering for an account, or using any of our services, you confirm that you have read, understood, and agree to be bound by these Terms and our Privacy Policy.

These Terms form a legally binding agreement between you and YLG. If you are using our services on behalf of an organisation, you confirm that you have authority to bind that organisation to these Terms.

2. About YLG and our services

Yvonne Lewis Group Ltd provides the following services through this platform:

  • Recruitment services: connecting job seekers (candidates) with employers and client organisations operating in the supported housing and social care sector
  • Workforce training: accredited and non-accredited training courses for supported housing professionals
  • Job Seeker Portal: an online dashboard allowing candidates to create a profile, upload a CV, browse vacancies, and manage applications
  • Employer services: vacancy posting, candidate matching, and workforce consultancy for housing providers and care organisations
  • Consultation and meeting booking: scheduling consultations with YLG staff and training coordinators

YLG reserves the right to modify, suspend, or discontinue any part of the service at any time. We will provide reasonable notice of material changes where possible.

3. Eligibility and registration

Age requirement

You must be at least 18 years of age to use our services. By registering, you confirm that you meet this requirement.

Right to work

Candidates must have the legal right to work in the United Kingdom. By registering as a candidate, you confirm that you have, or will obtain prior to any placement, the necessary right-to-work documentation. YLG may request evidence of your right to work at any stage in the recruitment process.

Barred persons

You must not register or use our services if you are barred from working with vulnerable adults or children by the Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS), or if you are subject to any regulatory order, caution, or prohibition that would prevent lawful employment in the supported housing or social care sector.

Account accuracy

You must provide accurate, current, and complete information when registering. You are responsible for keeping your account details up to date. Providing false information is a material breach of these Terms and may result in immediate account termination.

Account security

You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials and for all activity that occurs under your account. Notify us immediately at admin@yvonnelewisgroup.com if you suspect unauthorised access to your account.

4. Candidate responsibilities

As a candidate using our platform, you agree to:

  • Provide honest, accurate, and up-to-date information in your profile, CV, and all communications with YLG and prospective employers
  • Disclose any matters that may affect your suitability for roles in the supported housing sector, including any relevant criminal convictions, regulatory sanctions, or health conditions that would affect your ability to perform the role safely
  • Inform YLG promptly if your DBS certificate status changes, or if you become aware of any new information that may affect your suitability
  • Respond to communications from YLG within a reasonable timeframe (normally 3–5 working days) to avoid delays in the recruitment process
  • Attend confirmed interviews and meetings unless you give at least 24 hours' notice of cancellation
  • Notify YLG promptly if you accept a job offer, withdraw from a process, or otherwise change your circumstances
  • Treat all YLG staff, employers, and other candidates with professionalism and respect
  • Not misrepresent your qualifications, experience, right to work, or DBS status at any stage

Important: Falsifying DBS information or qualifications in the context of supported housing roles may constitute a criminal offence and will result in immediate removal from the platform and notification of relevant authorities where required by law.

5. Employer and client responsibilities

Employers and client organisations using YLG's recruitment services agree to:

  • Provide accurate and complete information about vacancies, including role requirements, remuneration, working hours, and any mandatory qualifications
  • Comply with all applicable UK employment law, including the Equality Act 2010, National Minimum Wage legislation, and Working Time Regulations
  • Conduct their own pre-employment checks (including right-to-work verification, DBS checks, and reference checks) before making an employment offer, as required by law
  • Treat all candidates referred by YLG fairly, consistently, and without unlawful discrimination
  • Notify YLG promptly of any changes to vacancy requirements or if a vacancy is filled
  • Pay all agreed fees to YLG in accordance with the relevant service agreement
  • Handle any candidate personal data shared by YLG in accordance with UK GDPR and their own data protection obligations

Client organisations acknowledge that while YLG assists with candidate sourcing and vetting, they remain solely responsible for all employment decisions, including offers of employment, salary setting, and on-site management of workers.

6. YLG's role and limitations

Intermediary status

YLG acts as a recruitment and training intermediary. YLG is not an employer of candidates placed with client organisations, except where a separate written contract explicitly establishes a temporary staffing arrangement. The employment relationship is between the candidate and the client organisation.

No guarantee of employment

Use of our platform and registration as a candidate does not guarantee:

  • That you will be offered any interview or employment
  • That any particular vacancy will remain available
  • That our CV-matching algorithms will identify all suitable opportunities
  • That a placement will be permanent or will continue for any specified duration

Information accuracy

We take reasonable care to ensure that vacancy details, training information, and other content on our platform are accurate and up to date. However, we cannot guarantee the accuracy or completeness of information provided by third-party employers, and we are not responsible for errors in such content.

CV matching

Our automated CV-matching feature is provided as an assistive tool only. All final matching decisions and candidate recommendations involve human review. YLG makes no warranty that the matching tool will identify every suitable opportunity or that all suggestions will be appropriate for your individual circumstances.

7. Data, privacy, and your account

Your use of the platform is also governed by our Privacy Policy, which is incorporated into these Terms by reference.

Your data is stored locally

Your profile, CV information, and application data are currently stored in your browser's localStorage. This means:

  • Your data is stored on your device, not on a central server
  • Data will not transfer automatically if you switch browsers, devices, or clear browser data
  • You are responsible for the security of your device and browser

You should not use a shared or public device to access your account, as others may be able to view your profile information.

CV uploads

When you upload a CV through the platform, the filename and reference are stored in your browser. Uploaded CV files may be transmitted to YLG for recruitment purposes. By uploading a CV, you grant YLG a non-exclusive licence to use that CV for recruitment matching and placement purposes.

Account deletion

You may request deletion of your account and personal data at any time by contacting us at admin@yvonnelewisgroup.com. See our Privacy Policy — Your Rights for details.

Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law:

  • YLG shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive loss or damage, including loss of profits, data, goodwill, or business opportunities, arising from your use of (or inability to use) our services
  • YLG's total aggregate liability to you for any direct loss or damage shall not exceed the total fees paid by you to YLG in the 12 months preceding the claim (or £100 if no fees have been paid)

Either party may terminate the use of our services at any time.

YLG may suspend or permanently terminate your access to the platform, without notice, if we reasonably believe you have:

  • Breached any provision of these Terms
  • Provided false or misleading information
  • Engaged in conduct harmful to YLG, other users, or third parties
  • Engaged in fraudulent activity or criminal conduct relating to the recruitment process

On termination, your right to use the platform ceases immediately. Clauses relating to intellectual property, limitation of liability, and governing law survive termination.

12. Changes to these terms

We reserve the right to modify these Terms at any time. When we make material changes, we will:

  • Update the "Last updated" date at the top of this page
  • Display a notice on the website

Your continued use of the platform after changes are posted constitutes your acceptance of the revised Terms. If you do not agree to the new Terms, you must stop using the service.

13. Governing law and disputes

These Terms and any dispute or claim arising out of or in connection with them (including non-contractual disputes or claims) shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of England and Wales.

Both parties agree that any disputes shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales, unless an alternative dispute resolution mechanism is agreed in writing.

Before commencing formal proceedings, you agree to contact us in good faith to attempt to resolve the dispute informally. Please write to us at admin@yvonnelewisgroup.com with the subject line "Dispute Resolution". We will acknowledge your message within 5 working days and endeavour to resolve the matter within 30 days.

If you are a consumer based in the UK, you may also have recourse to the Ombudsman Services or other applicable alternative dispute resolution schemes.
